Humberwood Academy: Waiver & Terms of Service

1. Release of Liability and Indemnity

The participants and parents/guardians acknowledge and agree that Humberwood Academy, its directors, instructors, and staff will not be held responsible for any accidents, damage, injury, or loss however caused—negligent or otherwise—at any time. By registering for this program, the aforementioned parties expressly release Humberwood Academy from any and all claims arising from any accident, damage, injury, or any consequences thereof.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that hockey and power skating involve inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions with other participants, contact with the ice, boards, or equipment, and physical exertion. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my child’s participation.

3. Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency and in the inability to be contacted, I hereby give Humberwood Academy permission to seek any necessary medical attention needed for the participant. I understand that any costs associated with emergency medical treatment are the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

4. Equipment Requirements

For the safety of all participants, full CSA-approved hockey equipment is required for all hockey-related sessions. For skating-only sessions, a CSA-approved helmet and skates are mandatory. Humberwood Academy reserves the right to refuse participation if a student’s equipment is deemed unsafe or incomplete.

5. Drop-In Policy & Cancellations

Booking: All drop-in sessions must be booked and paid for in advance through the website to secure a spot.

Cancellations: Due to ice rental commitments, cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session start time are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Punctuality: Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled ice time to ensure the participant is dressed and ready to start on time.

6. Media Release

I hereby grant Humberwood Academy permission to use photographs or video footage of the participant taken during sessions for promotional purposes, including social media and the academy website, without further compensation.
